Well, I figured that I better post a LKA trip before January ran out.  Got out early to catch small gizzard shad with the throw net.  I had decided to try live bait today.  Found a decent school and got 4 with the first throw.  Second throw nada.  Third throw had over 20 which was enough.  I was using 3--5" shad.  Went down lake about 4 miles and found some scattered fish.  Put out 3 planer boards on each side in addition to two down lines (8 rods).  Fish just didn't want to eat.  After a little over an hour, one of the down rods bends over double.  Put a fat 22" keeper in the boat .  After at least another hour..........other down rod starts squealing.   Fight it for about 30 seconds and it comes off .  Fished to noon without another hit.  Almost 60 degrees on the way back to the dock!  Rest of the week is supposed to be either wet or cold here .
