Cold water rescue...

They were practicing this morning. Great to see!

Better to practice in a pond than to practice in the Potomac when the rivers up - see it before

They have to do both.

Part of the drill was breaking ice and then going in. Dry suits are the deal!

BTW, when Bev Carroll was working for the FCFD, he was a lead in swift water rescue at Station 12 in Great Falls. Spent many hours on the Potomac in fast water. He even has a helicopter rescue to his credit.

That's pretty cool

My son has two helicopter rescues to his credit
