Next week I will be having a family vacation at Deep Creek Lake. Just wondering if any of you have been there this summer and had any tips/suggestions to share regarding locations, lures, etc. Part of my fishing will involve my 4 grandkids aged 9-13, so bait fishing will certainly be included. Any help would be appreciated on the forum or via PM.
Thanks.

Never been to the lake but would like to hear how you liked it...or not.
Check the MD DNR reports, they usually have something about DCL.

Thanks Ernie. That's a good start and hopefully someone will have recent trip results to share.

I went there back when I was in the age range of your grandkids. It's a really neat lake with a lot of variety. I don't have any tips other than I remember that the bass fishermen mostly concentrated on docks.

The best thing there is the candy store...per the pound you pay for some old style candy.
Also there is an artist place that has iron and other artworks..
Fishing is tough , early dawn is the only time I have had any luck there.
