Unfortunately, those that we remember and honor today did not come home.
I am always humbled by the thought that so many men and women gave up their lives in order to keep the country free. And I am most most humbled by the thought that my family was able to come here and enjoy the freedoms that these people paid the ultimate sacrifice for. So thankful...

I have a lot of mixed emotions about this day as well as veterans day. I raise my glass to my friends and foreign military friends lost over the years. To the many unrecognized who served our nation in the dark and out of uniform who are often overlooked for their sacrifices, I raise my glass.

I've talked to many who have served and been away at war. That's why when I see an old guy with "the hat" or a young guy in uniform with war ribbons or medals I alway say "Welcome Home" because they know that there was a change they wouldn't have come home.
