I have a decent mechanic for the big stuff. The little stuff I always do.
Just took the wife's Honda in for an oil change and tire rotation.
They said that I have an urgent need to clean the fog off my headlights. $180
Went to YouTube and found ½ dozen ways, but the way I liked was to use Mother's Aluminum Wax - which I had an old container of. It was dry, so added a teaspoon of mineral spirits and mixed it up. Perfect.
Then had a butt roll of blue tape I taped up the paint around the light.
Buffed the Mothers into each headlight - took about 5 minutes a side. Then let it sit for 10 minutes and with a clean rag started taking the wax off - wax on wax off until the headlights buffed clean..
They look like they're brand new
Cost - about ½ hour labor on my part
And I have $180 to put in the gas tank
