Maybe, just maybe better now than next week?  Some may delay their process, but most have started it.

I think the timing is bad regardless. The fish don't all spawn at once so yes, some will be fine. But now the prediction is for a higher number getting there fast. Aargh!

Re: This is not good timing...

Article came out today that space travel could warp the human brain so I'll pass on a trip with Elon

Upper PA, New or James should be good -  if not the tribs drop faster and are fishable.

I know a little place that's a jewel when the rest of the area has high water - posted a banner day on RS and no one believed I found fishable waters,  it's a drive

A airline ticket to FL will do....I don't like driving that far for fish.

I'm starting to agree with you as I age

Except for Canada - I'd need to buy an airplane and a rotorcraft ticket - so I'll drive

Almost 17' at POR and not cresting yet!    sad

Considered a "minor"  but almost "moderate" flood. Perhaps the smallies will adjust.

Re: This is not good timing...

It would be interesting to see how much rain it takes for flooding compared to in the past.  2-3" over 3 days is really not that much rain.

Not normally but this was the entire watershed getting soaked. No stream within 100 miles of our rivers was spared.

Re: This is not good timing...

From the Potomac Riverkeeper: Update on one of the loose barges. This one is stuck on dam #4 because the equipment came off and is anchoring it in place. Once the river is safe, the contractor will assess the appropriate way to remove barge and equipment. The barge is modular and could be airlifted in separate pieces as well as some of the equipment.

The other one is resting comfortably near Harper's Ferry.
