May, 2022

I took the 5wt out and caught a couple of small bass on a home made fly. Of course, I proceeded to lose it.

Then I tied on a clouser and caught this crappie.

Black crappie?

Re: May, 2022

Went out for a short stogie and fished with a chatterbait. Caught 2 that were @12".

Then switched to a swim jig. Got snagged but it seemed to be pliable...like a log. Then finally brought this guy in. Huge head!

Luckily, I had him by the tail and was able to get free before he bit my hand off!

I should have taken more pics today. A lot of fun on the 4wt!

I caught many LMB, green sunfish, blue gill, long ear blue gill and then this nice red ear!

Don't want to shoot myself in the foot, but why do you even need a boat?

I like the buoyancy under me when in the boat. Easier on the knees than bank fishing. Plus, I can get away from people.  lol

Re: May, 2022

Another short stogie session.

Caught 2 like this one...

...on my L shad rod.

Then I saw some dimpling in the water and I threw at it. Got bit and line started peeling. I saw the fish and started to worry that I was over matched. Luckily, she was tired from giving birth  a few days back. The dimpling was a huge bass fry bait ball.

This was my reward.

Mama was not happy! Almost straightened out the hook on my jig that was missing lots of hair!

Caught 2-3 more dinks on a 3" wacky.

Nice outing...time to rest.

I love that rod. A friend gave me a heads up that they (Mud Hole) were selling 7 of these that were made in a class . I was lucky to get it.
