Saturday fun

Buddy from KBF and I have been trying to get on the river all year and finally did.

Started the float with the temps in the high 30's and by the end of the day we were stripping off layers and enjoying the sun

Unfortunately, it was a fly kind of a day for me.  I couldn't set the hook and keep them on for the life of me.  But did have a huge smallie swim up to the yak, look at me and turned and swam off.  The trees with heron nests were all full of herons on their nests and bald eagles were out.

Fortunately, my buddy didn't smell skunk and managed to hook more than a  few.  Here are some of his high lights of the day

edit. Filled up in the morning and discovered I paid 70c more per gallon than the last time I filled up.  $4.0999

Re: Saturday fun

Nice report glad you got out. Your experience was kinda like mine last week. Will post a bunch of pics later.

Re: Saturday fun

Thx - river was awesome but not my day to hook fish.  The fish that came up to my yak still haunts me - I'm guessing it was 18ish. I could have reached down and petted the fish it was so close.

Very different day than a couple days before
