Rose River 2/20

Headed up to the mountains yesterday to fish the recently stocked Rose river in Madison county. There are 3 stocked rivers in the area and the Rose is my least favorite. It's very small with a ton of riffles but not many pools. Anyway, after a short hike and some rock hopping I found a spot with some fish. I caught 5 total. 3 Rainbows and 2 brooks. All of them on a trout magnet and a little Berkley nymph. Had a bunch of bites on spinners but couldn't hook them. I didn't feel like cleaning fish so I released them all. It was a fun trip in some beautiful scenery.

Yeah it was nasty. Trout fishing is one of my go-tos when it's windy, since the waters are small and the trees provide some protection.
