I decided to get out before the rains come and try for some greenies.  I got on the water about 8am.  Cool, but not cold out.  Tried a jerkbait for a bit.  It was almost low tide.  No takers, so I worked the near shoreline.  It took a while, but I caught a nice 15"er on the ned rig.





I was glad to get the skunk out.  I caught another 14" on the ned nearby.





The tide was coming in and the sun came out for a bit.  I tried different stuff, but no bites for a while.  Wind shifted direction but was not strong.  I missed one bite in the far side and then eventually worked around to the near side.  After eating my lunch and working different lures, I decided to stick with bottom dragging.  I had a ned, a Nikko ned and a spider grub.  I got a good hit on the ned and had a bigger fish on for a few seconds, but it somehow got off.  I switched to the spider grub in the same area and got this fat 14"er all dolled up with red lips.





I made a couple more casts to that tree and got a good 18.5"er on the hula grub.







The pattern was wood with moderate depth, dropping off from shore.  I had at least one more bite on the ned, but I was missing them for some reason on that setup.  It was good in the morning.  Got off the water a little after 3pm.

I was happy to get a last trip in for 2021.  Better quality fish, but fewer bites than a few weeks ago.   Overall good day to be out.
