Cars

Yesterday., George sent me a pic of a beautifully restored '62 Impala. It was $229,900. A little steep for me.

But it got me thinkin' about cars.

Back in the day, Debbie and I took a cross country trip (DC to Grand Canyon and back) in this guy.

Re: Cars

Old?

So many cars looked the same.  It would help if you gave the year you traveled.  It looks like a Toyota to me, but could be wrong.

We took the trip in '76...and car not made in Japan (or any of their neighbors).

And it's not a Lada (Russian cars in Cuba).

Re: Cars

Looks like a car with a ticket on the windshield

My guess would be some French POS - Renault, Peugeot

Although to give the French credit, they did design the bullet proof inline 6 that was the star for old Jeeps

Re: Cars

It's a Fiat 131 which replaced my 124 which was made famous by Rémy Julienne who was a famous French stunt driver.

Re: Cars

I once owned a Simca that I got for 50 bucks. Needed an accelerator cable and I used a piano wire to replace it. Blew up on the Woodrow Wilson bridge. Engine case cracked. Pulled the tags and left it there.
