LKA Stripers evening of 7-14

One of Ellen's friends came down for the day and overnight stay.  Around 7:30 pm they wanted to go for a boat ride.  So off we went for a short tour of the lake.  About 8 pm I started marking stripers.........so.........it's a fishing boat.  I put out 6 rods and we trolled.  Her friend, Ronda, had never caught a striper.  Didn't take long and a rod goes down hard.  I hand her the rod and you've never heard so much squealing!  She did a good job reeling it in with some coaching.  She was beside herself.  It was a keeper, but it went back to be caught another day.  Her first striper........

As we were about to pull in the rods, another keeper fish hits.  Ellen reels this one in.  It's dark now.  This one also goes back in the lake.

Not too bad for what was supposed to be just a boat ride!

Haha, that's what I always tell my kids too...we're just going for a boat ride. Nicely done!
