Inflatable Kayaks

I posted this on another forum but have only received one reply. My son is interested in buying 2 inflatable kayaks for use on lakes and reservoirs. He would use them for fun, but not for fishing. I have always owned SOT kayaks and I know nothing about inflatables. Can anyone suggest a brand of kayak or point out some things he should be looking for in an inflatable? Any ideas would be appreciated.

Re: Inflatable Kayaks

There are some really nice ones that are pricey and some that are junk.  I wish I could help more, but here are examples of some.

Re: Inflatable Kayaks

The problem with most of the cheaper inflatables is a flat bottom that makes them frustrating to paddle.  They don't track in a straight line very well.  Need to find one that has a pretty pronounced and rigid bow and stern.  This is a good example of one that will track well but is expensive (https://www.amazon.com/Advanced-Element … ast_sto_dp ).  I couldn't find any others on amazon that compare.  I have heard several people that love the new inflatable paddle boards.  They say they perform really well and seem a bit cheaper than the good inflatable kayaks (https://www.amazon.com/Inflatable-Acces … amp;sr=1-1 )  But this isn't the same as a kayak.  Not sure I helped, but that is my 2 cents.
