4-5-21, "O"

Bob and I only had a few hours to fish as he had dog sitting duties in the afternoon.

It was a chilly 44df at the start but it moved up nicely. Water temps were 53df at the start and close to 56df when we finished.

We went up rover to our usual honey hole area and there were no boats up there. We did see one boat below the foot bridge. And 1-2 shore line anglers.  All of this would change by 10a.

It did not take long for me to get the skunk off and add a 2nd fish too...

Then quickly, Bob got to six!

And he kept slowly pulling away.

The bite was really slow and I probably stayed in the fast water too long. Sometimes, we went 30 minutes without a catch.

Knowing that Bob had to get off the water early, I set a goal of 25 when we were 8-9 fish away from that.

We finally reached it...Bob caught 18 to my 9 by the end of the excursion.

At one time, we saw 7-8 shore anglers as well as 4-5 kayaks and 5-6 other boats. We held our spot in the middle of the current and blocked most people off.

Towards the end, and shy of out 25 goal, we drifted under the footbridge and started catching at a better rate.

We actually left them biting but we had to go.

I got  the 12" brat from Brickmaker's and ate it on the way home. Delicious!

Time to go fishin' again!
