Yep, a fishing report on a Saturday.
The ramp parking lot was packed when we got there as there appeared to be a HS regatta but we beat them there so no issues launching. A few kayakers were out but no boats.
Greg and I were on the water shortly before 8:30a and made the long haul up river (come on White's Ferry...open back up!).
Our 1st stop was vacant and we pounded it the water to oblivion. It is my assumption that when the water is cooler (56-58df all day), they get more active when it ticks up a bit.
We got no bites and then did the same drift again...for nada!
Then we decided to hit Harrison but we saw some good looking micro eddies on the way up.
No love at Harrison so we ate lunch. Good Italian subs from Filling Co. Gas & Grub. Breakfast was good too!
We went to hit the water we saw earlier but there was more current there along with way more wind (than predicted) so it was tough handling the boat.
We then hit the inside of Harrison and at 1:25p...Greg finally got the skunk off the boat off a cliff.
We worked that area a bit more and then decided to head back and stop at the 1st place but there were 2 boats there so we stopped at the mouth of Goose where Greg scored on this pig of a LMB!
The thing filled the whole camera lens!
Well, no skunk for the boat but a skunk for me.
We called it and had the boat back at the barn by 3:15p.
Beautiful day out there until the wind came by...wind.
As we were chatting in the beginning of the day, Greg reminded my that we had a full moon recently. Then I said, "well, we have a blue bird day and very high pressure". So that's 3 strikes but there's more. There are few fish in the UP so we said that was 3 strikes as well. That's two full innings of perfect nothing.

You got out and there were fish landed. Went on a Saturday with no drama, that's a plus. Nice day to be out. Fish are figuring out what to do with a 10 degree water temp increase in less than a week.

We had the river to ourselves until the afternoon. I think we saw 5-6 boats but no one bothered us.

Bob, that is a saying my oldest brother uses regularly. He has a very particular sense of humor. Too funny!

I must be a glutton for punishment but I'm gonna keep trying!
Bottom line is that I would rather be on the water than watching TV or doing chores...

Amen to that!

It was a great day, but all those strikes against us made for tough fishing. After so many hours with no fish, I really thought we were going to get skunked. So, happy when we finally got a bite (I am sure I almost scared Ernie off the boat when I set the hook). The day was beautiful and the sun was warm.
