LKA 1-1-2021

Well, started the new year in 34 degree rain on LKA.  Jigged for a couple of hours and no stripers wanted to cooperate.  But did catch several white perch to 11” and a couple catfish.  All released.  There are massive bait balls stretching hundreds of yards midlake and 10’ thick in many places.  Very tough catching a striper in those conditions.  Can see the stripers under the bait, but they aren’t interested in a spoon or jig with trillions of live bait at their nose.

Re: LKA 1-1-2021

Went out again today in the 60 degree temps.  A few perch, but all we mostly caught were these small threadfins.  Might have to zoom in to see the 1.5" bait that is the size of the silver buddy,

Tried again this morning, but just too much bait is concentrated below the mud line to catch anything but a snagged threadfin sad .  Bait about 15 feet thick in 22 fow.
