Beaverdam 6/8

A quick report, I'm going to make a video later. I started about 0800 when until 1130ish.  Again the bite was slow and again I caught three crappie. The biggest was 12.5" They looked to be suspending in ~14 FOW above the trees and bushes that were about 4ft tall.  I caught them on a small crankbait and ~3" swimming shad type thing.  I also caught two bluegill and three white perch.
Smallies remain elusive.

Re: Beaverdam 6/8

At least you got out and caught something.  I do not have a fish finder in my canoe.  I usually start upstream and work my way toward the dam.  With all the flooded trees, the mid-lake area seemed to have a good number of fish.  As far as smallies, I would suggest either up lake, or down by the dam.  I have only caught a few, but my wife caught a very long fish years ago on a Jitterbug by the dam years ago when she noticed fish surfacing.  That was many moons ago.  Fish was over 20" for sure, but skinny.
