5-29-20, "O"

We put in and Occoquan but this time, Bob and I went left and out to my favorite Creek.

It was 75 and muggy when we started with a little drizzle. The water temps was about the same...but it was wet.

We were fishing by 8:30a and by 9a, Bob scored on a chatterbait!

And then again!

I think this one came after Bob semi snagged a carp.

Later, Bob saw a snakehead try to hit his CB and all I heard was, #@!+*!. A second later, Bob gets hooked up to a bass that spits the hook at him! More #@!+*!

He had a couple more hits and then all hell breaks loose!

He has a monster fish on and when I saw him, I said, "bull red"! Of course, it was a carp. Bob thought he had foul hooked it but as he got close, I could see the chatterbait right in his mouth!

This fish got close a half a dozen times before I could get a net under him.

Thirty and a half inches! About wore Bob down!

Some nice flowers in the back of the creek...

Finally, at 11:30a, my turn!

And another one that spit the hook as he jumped when Bob was getting the net.

Things slowed down and it was hot and muggy.

Our prize was lunch at Brickmaker's, which opened today.

I was going to work a familiar area and Bob looked to the other side and asked about it. I said it was too shallow. He sold me on the tapestry so we went.

Here, we each had a couple of bites and we each scored.

I declared it was time to go and Bob suggested we fish the mouth of the creek and I obliged.

I got a bite but that's it. Bob got hammered by something and it was a fat blue cat. I netted it and put a boga on it but Bob did not want a pic since he loves kitties so much.

But...his line was slimmed!

We took off for lunch and told Dennis (boss of the cafe) that we were happy that he was open. But...no burgers yet so we settled for a couple of good turkey sammies.

Pretty good day for sure. The fish were there and bit us but very subtle.

Until the next time...

It was fun to watch!

What I forgot to mention was all the carp that were frolicking in the pads. Sounded like ocean waves crashing on rocks.
