5-12 LKA Stripers

Well, wife and I were tired of being quarantined in the house all morning, so we decided to go fishing around 2pm for a couple hrs.  Bright sunny and a cold west wind at at least 10mph.  Did not have trouble finding fish, but getting them to eat in the bright sun was not easy.

Ellen gets the first one and it is a 26 inch fatty.

I finally land a 17 inch throwback hybrid.

As we were getting ready to call it quits, Ellen hooks a 19 inch striper that was released to grow.  Not a bad afternoon for stripers considering the bright sun.

Went this morning for 3 hrs and caught 3.  Kept a 22” striper.  Frost on the ground when I walked down to the dock.

I kinda know all the spots by now, but will still study the map.  Many of the long-time fishermen here say the "patterns" have changed drastically since hybrids were stocked......hybrids migrate around more randomly than stripers, and unfortunately many stripers follow them.  The usual seasonal spots for stripers only apply in a limited number of locations now tongue
