Playing Tackle Box

Sunday I retied all 46 of my rods and organized my boat and put my massive tackle box in order.

Was almost like fishing..NOT..

Re: Playing Tackle Box

I found one baitcaster that I must have backlashed two years ago and just put it away. Sat with a good stogie and worked that massive mess out for almost an hour. Happy to have it untangled I tied the jig back on and the line snapped. Old line was brittle so after that I stripped it all off and put new line on it. Go figure right. Cast it in the yard and another massive birdnest. Burst out laughing and untangled it. Found the issue was the reel. Fixed that later that night over a dirty martini.

Fun right?

Re: Playing Tackle Box

I have an uncanny talent which is to be able to undo any backlash in very little time. Ask those that have witnessed it!

Almost everyday, I go out and organize stuff. Luckily, I can go out back to fish but that only gets me for an hour or so while I enjoy a nice stogie.  The big issue is that there's no one to talk to!

Stay safe my amigos!

Clearly, you're lacking imagination.

I will have to send you a picture of my next bad one. In the 3 years of fishing baitcasters, I've had to cut out 3 really bad back lashes, and they've all been from bank fishing when I hit a tree limb.

Re: Playing Tackle Box

Ernie is a zen master with backlashes.  I would just cut them out if I could not get them out easily.  To each their own...

BTW...I would rather undo braid than mono or floro.
