10-19-19, Chesapeake Bay

I got a chance to fish with Rob on his new 23' Parker. Nice and comfortable boat. Keith and Rod H. joined us as well.

We left Rob's dock as the sun was starting to come up...it was chilly!

We immediately headed over to a known spot that produces some shallow, top water action but we got only one roll on Keith's bait. Rob and I did not even get a sniff.

So we went to spot #2 with the same results.

Did I say that there was some E in the wind?

Anyway, our 3rd spot allowed me to take the skunk off the boat!

We then headed up bay ( a little choppy) and we found some birds.

The 1st catch was a chunky bluefish..

...and we got exited as they put up a nice fight. But the rest of the fish we caught as we hopped around chasing the birds were miniature stripers!

This is what we saw many times...

...but all the fish were teeny.

We then hit a really nice area but no takers...

We worked out way back and found some more birds but again, all the fish were micros.

We finally called it a day and headed back to the barn.

This was our ride once she was put up.

Very nice day to be out...and we caught some fish!

Great report. I also had no topwater action yesterday morning, I think the water was just too low.
