Catoctin Creek

I've really been wanting to go after smallies this summer but time constraints haven't allowed me to go to my favorite spot in luray and I didn't know too many spots local to go for them. Fast forward to last week a friend of mine mentioned a spot on Catoctin creek that held smallies, so we went out and after about a half mile wade downstream we hit some really nice pools right after some "rapids" and the pattern was textbook.

But surprisingly my best fish came on the wade down, I saw two cruisers alongside us and casted in front of them and I didn't even need to set the hook on the weightless finesse worm, it was awesome! Only got a few pictures but caught about 5 smallies of a similar size so I can't complain.
