7-19 Striper fishing with Benjamin

Got out on the water with my grandson at 5:15 this morning. Nearly a full moon.

Hunted for them for quite a while and the sun came up. Then we found them!

His first one is a throw back.

Then a nice 22" keeper.

Then a nice channel cat.

And finally a 19.5" throwback. He was disappointed that it had to go back because it gave him a good fight.

Yes, we were trolling deep diving broken-back rebels and deep diving redfins, but he had a blast. By 9am it was getting hot and we headed to the dock for shade and rest. Not sure if I am going to get him out this evening after getting him up so early this morning.

Nicely done! He deserves a big scoop of ice cream in this heat!
