Northern Neck specks 7/13

I started at Windmill point at dawn but all I found was brown water and a couple schoolie stripers. I really didn't like the conditions there so I pulled out after two hours and headed upriver to launch at another ramp.

Still very muddy water and no grass but I did find a few fish on a jetty. It was a mix of small schoolies, white perch, and a couple specks. Maybe 10 fish altogether.

There was a ton of boat traffic and I still wasn't happy with the conditions so I packed up once again.

At this point it was only 1pm and there was lots of daylight left, so I took the boat to yet another spot. This one was much better. Water wasn't as dirty and there was a lot of grass. Took maybe an hour of casting and then I got into them good!

I fished until about 7:30 and caught at least 30 specks. Popping cork and jig was the ticket again. Most were keeper size but I let them all go this time.

Back home and in bed at 11:30 pm. It was a long day, but a lot of fun.
