Bob wanted another shot at the creek so I obliged. We cancelled yesterday due to threat of T-Storms and then we worried about dirty water today.
We were on the water by 6:30a...
...and fishing just after 7a.
Tide was rushing out pretty fast as high tide was at 4a.
The channel was stained but everything else was clear.
I scored 1st but it wasn't until 8:30a...
...on the electric blue pit boss! He was a little less than 2lbs.
I scored again (9:05a) with a fluke...
...this one went 2.2lbs!
Then nothing for a while. We moved out to the mouth and Bob got a hit or two but that was it. Then we drifted into an area that was wind blown, had some scum on the water and we could see an eddy.
It was now close to 10:30a (almost low tide) and Bob had yet to land one.
But wait, he gets hit on a fluke!
I get bit next (fluke) with a nice 18"er, 2.5lbs!
I am now up 3-1 but Bob gets hit again (no pic).
And then he ties it up!
I got hit really hard but lost the fish and Bob made a cast close by and he gets hit again on the same fluke! This one was 1.8lbs. and he takes the lead...
...but not for long! I tie it up with another fluke caught LMB.
We then moved back in and had a few hits but nothing.
Tide was now coming in as was the heat so we went back to our spot (we caught 6 in the same general area).
I threw the pit boss again and was rewarded!
We were done...the score was close and Bob was satisfied. The fishing was not red hot but once we located them, it was pretty steady.
I think my 5 came in at around 10lbs. Won't win any big money but it will score!
We ate our lunch on the long No Wake (much slower this time) back but we had a nice day despite the fears of muddy water.
