John and I met up at 6:45a and were on the water soon thereafter.
While moving to the 1st spot, we wondered how fishing would be today. We had a high pressure moving in under a full moon and it was gonna be really windy!
I wanted to start where Bob and I left off but we had not bites whatsoever!
So we moved on the spot #2 where there is a always a fish...or three.
Finally, at 9a, John connected on a 14.5"er on a home painted crank!
And that was it! No more smallies and very few (if any) bites.
We were totally humiliated and humbled! But at least John got one!
We tried a few places while hiding from the wind but nothing.
Then...right before noon, John gets slammed with this hefty channel cat. It definitely gave John a run for his money!
No excuses, we just could not figure them out today.

Tough day for sure! The wind was unforgiving. Fish had lockjaw, it seemed. I broke the crank I caught the 2 fish on when I smacked it into the trolling motor. Luckily, I have a few more crankbaits! Thanks for lugging my butt around, Ernie!
