Upper Potomac 4/7/19

I decided to get out early and do a half day or so of fishing.  The morning started in the 50's, which was nice and the water level is below 4 foot at POR.  Water was mostly clear and in the low 50's.

I tried some deeper water in the morning, but got no bites.  I ran up and fished the head of and island, but no takers there either.  I floated the island and got my first bite in a little pocket behind a tree.  It bit a ned head with a z-man finesse hula stick.  It measured 15.5" and was the biggest fish of the day.

I used my drag chain to float the island and only got bit on a finesse Keitech on a jig spinner.  I ended up with 6 fish total, but had to work for them.  Nothing bit spinnerbaits, tube, cranks, craw or jig.  I tried the MD shore after the wind picked up, but nothing.  I hit a couple spots on the next island, but the water seemed too clear.  I got off the water by about 1:15pm.  Saw an Eagle miss a shad and a fox running on the shoreline of an island.  Nice day to be out.

No sir.  The water was clear and I almost called you to get better coordinates.  I probably should have.

Up by the rocks...water was dirtier than just 10 feet away.

Rod can be salvaged if snagged at any point.  Reel, maybe not.  Water should be decent to check this week, but rain coming next week.

Reel was older and so was rod but it was customized. But it was my tube set up. Not sure I will be able to get to it this week.

These forecasters are all over the map. I don't care who they are. One day they forecast 63-64 degrees and it gets close to 75! How can you be that far off?

A few days ago, they called for rain on Tuesday. Now it's  looking like a very nice day.

Phooey!
