Lower Potomac 9/22

Hit the lower Potomac again in the same area I fished last time. Got on the water around 7am and started out throwing topwaters over a sandbar. I had bites on almost every cast for half an hour, they were smaller stripers from about 14-20" but they hit and fought hard.

That bite died as soon as the sun came out from the clouds so I moved to a point on the main river. First fish on that spot was a 24" on a Storm Kickin Stick. Got a couple more little guys then hooked into a nice 28" to fill my limit. I spent the next 4 hours there and caught a bunch of fish, mostly small but I did hook a few more 20+ inchers. Hooked a real nice one late in the morning that ripped drag and then bent out the hooks on my lure. Definitely upgrading my hooks before my next trip!

Boat traffic was picking up and the bite slowed down so I headed back to the dock at 12. Fun trip!
