Hit Cedar at 2 PM (35 minutes) using my little 3 wt fly rod. I used little poppers and also an ant bug. It was a blast catching 5-6 bass with this one being the biggest (a little shy of 1 lb)....
They were darting out from the algae.....LOTS of algae....it was a pain in the rump!
I also landed a bunch of nice blue gills (8 or 9).....they are behaving like they are going to spawn again. One of the fatter ones was a warmouth....I love the yellow fins!
Finesse is the name of the game. The fish are under the algae…lots of them! They bite quickly and dart back in the cover if they don’t get hooked…..missed more than I caught and I didn’t see any big ones in the mix.
The heat sapped my strength so I came in...may try again later.

I went to Cedar from 11-12 but only managed a few bites...I tried to stay away from the algae, maybe I should go to it.

We need to pull a lot of small ones from this lake.
I say....eat 'em or transfer them! I would have a hard time just pulling them.

I went back out for 45 minutes and the bite slowed down to nothing! I took the 4 wt out in hopes of battling bigger fish. I did catch 4-3-4 blue gills but they were not biting....top, mid and bottom...slooooow!
