Came down to the ramp to meet Bill and we ran in to John who was getting ready to launch and graciously let us have the 1st spot.

We were on the water before 0630.

Weather was great...river was up and fast but not muddy.

Bill started  throwing an old school Lucky 13 but I did not like the action so I made him tie on one of my Whopper Ploppers. No hits at 1st but then he had one miss and that got the juices flowing. Later, he had one on that came off before landing this guy.

I missed a couple at this spot. And would miss a few later on as well.

Later, I caught a little one as did Bill (on a crank bait).

And then we went on a dry spell for a while. The water was fast and the wind started to blow which made shore line fishing tough so we stuck to the middle.

I caught two 15 inchers in 15 minutes. They fought hard! Both on a maroon color Case Minnow on one of George's belly weighted hooks.

Overall, a fairly slow day. Bites were few and they were very subtle.

We were off the water at 1ish.

Good job getting Bill a Whopper Plopper fish and the 15"ers look healthy!  Your Maroon tip got me a fish on a similar colored crankbait.
