Bob got some intel that there might be some bigger perch lurking around Piney Point so we made the looooog drive down.
We were on the water and fishing before 8 and managed to catch a few.
Obligatory 1st fish....
This one was long and skinny but 10"!
We are looking for bigger fish for the SRRKC 2 month long tourney.
I got lucky and scored 3 fish over 10"!
But the fishing was slow. We would pick one here and there but we didn't find them bunched up until I decided to get out of St. George's Creek and head out to the Potomac. Here, we found a grass flat and scored lots of fish but no biggies!
Bob even got 2 spot!
And 2 stripers (16 & 17")!
Plus an airshow...
Around 1pm, I started feeling a little weird and shortly thereafter, we decided to end the day. 1st time the heat got to me!
Once in the comfort of the A/C, I started feeling better and was able to eat my ham sammie without worry. Man it was hot!

Good job finding some. Hot it was!

What? A Cuban being affected by the heat? Need to go striper fishing with me in the winter!

Ha! That was my fault for walking 4.5 miles in the heat the day before. I ran out of water about 1/2 mile from the house.
Luckily, I was able to bounce back once I got some A/C and food/drink.

Now that Ernie is good and retired his comfort zone seems to have settlted in the 57 - 82 deg. range. He was suddenly beat yesterday, going from casting and catching to completely washed out. It was a good time to head for home and beat rush hour. It was far away, but still a fun day exploring new water.

Well, I'm back to OK. Fished yesterday afternoon/evening with no issues and just finished a 3.6 mile walk with no issues. Don't know what it was on Wednesday but I went from near 100% to something way less than that in a matter of a few minutes.

I looked up from clearing a backlash and you were a different Ernie. Glad it ll worked out. Did you at least beat the traffic?

Yep...smooth ride home and minimal traffic.

Noticed a change last Sunday during our Mattawoman trip. But he bounced back at Golden Hour.
Think it was the second cigar that revived him. Or catching fish?

Be careful Ernie - same happened to me the other day cutting the grass in 93dF
Drink plenty of water and keep catching those 10' perch
