Bob and I were on the water by 0640 and fishing shortly thereafter.
Actually, I was supposed to fish the lower Potomac today but I got bumped off! That's another story....
It did not take long to take the skunk off with this monster smallie!
That's a BIG lure!
One of the teeniest smallies I've caught!
Bob then got his skunk off in a great way...on top water!
Solid 16.5 incher!
And another on top water!
He also caught another one at our 1st spot.
We decided to move upriver and hit the XX but the tree has now snapped! Still, we found our bowl and scored a few fish. We also found another fish holding bowl just a couple hundred yards away. Many of our fish were caught there.
I then called John and told him to head down as the fish were biting. Many misses as well!
Around 11, I heard a yell and it was John in his boat. He caught and landed a 20 incher. He was a happy camper!!
Bob then caught a 17 incher as well as a bunch more....many in the 14-15" range.
For the day, Bob caught 20 and landed 15! He had a few jumpers spit the hook!
I caught 9 smallies and a nice BG! My biggest was a FAT 18.5" bruiser than just did not want to get landed.
Nice day out, slight breeze and fairly steady action...until around 11:30a when it seemed to shut down.
Bob did catch one more at our last stop, just before we came in so he could get on the road before the traffic built up...

Beautiful fish, Ernie! You guys got into them better than me today. I am still pumped from my big one. The fish are really fighting hard!

Bob and I both commented at the fight in the fish today. They were steamrolling...an absolute blast!
Congrats again on that 20!
