I had a tentative trip with Ernie today, but a stomach bug changed that and my wife Christian said she would go with me. We got out early (did not sleep well) and it was comfortable (almost cool).
We started with topwater near the ramp. I gave Christian a torpedo and I was throwing my homemade spoon buzz. Christian missed a fish close to the boat and then ended up with two little ones on the tiny torpedo.
We ran up river and I hoped we would catch them near the ledges again. I had a smaller underpin with a swim bait on it for Christian and I tried different lures (underspin swim bait, scrounger jig with fluke, Rebel humpback and SWM jig with swim bait). Christian struck first and was up 5 fish to zero for me before I caught one on the scrounger. The fish were small, but fun.
Christian finally caught a bigger fish, a beautiful 14.25"er.
I started catching a few on the underspin and then the crankbait. I lost a bigger fish halfway to the boat (one of several lost). We ended up with 9 for Christian and 6 for me. It got hot quick after the sun came out with no real breeze. We got off the water at 11:00am.

She did it again! Great job putting her on the fish.
The plumbing is now fixed!

I've been on the water with Ernie when the plumbing was not fixed more than once! Not a pretty sight!
