Chiques Creek, Manheim Pa

A delayed spring, be it cold weather or slightly over-abundant rainfall.
Anglers block: and a fierce case of it!
My fingers fumble near hopelessly with what seems like a micronic jig. A decade ago I could retie in the dark by using the minimal light on the horizon.
Today There's simply no way I can tie a knot  without glasses.
Even Resorted  2 using a headlamp
Make my way down to the creek- which you wouldn't believe it is less than 50 yards from my back door- and up until now I've never fished it.
Pitching naturally ultralight, 16th oz jig head with extended shank generic curly tail grub.
My feet were awkward -my cast tentative.
Frankly I'm not terribly confident- I've been walking alongside these waters for a year and sell them see so much as a minnow.
Pickup??
I draw up the slack and am soon admiring a portly 9" redeye.
Is this the first time I've ever seen this fish in person?
You ever look at these amazing little spirits that we extract from Our Waters and just marvel?
