Tidal Potomac 2/28/18 Lots of pictures.

I got up early and took the square stern canoe to a local hole.  Water was stained, but not as dirty as I thought it would be.  Decided to hit a shallow flat first and caught 3 on a chatterbait.

After that bite died down I went to spot #2. Caught 2 on a tube and a fat 18"er on a swim jig.  I tried to take a picture on the hog trough, but she was not having it (3pics).

Then I moved and caught them on a chatterbait, tube , crankbait, swimjig and swimbait on an underspin head.  The fish were clustered and were biting off and on all day.

It was a long day and tough fighting the wind.  I caught 20 LM all together and lost a couple more.  The only 2 I measured were the biggest, both chunky 18"ers.  The bite is turning on!

You sir have a stronger stomach for the wind than I do! Awesome catches.

Very impressive! I'm surprised they were up shallow already. Wonder if the recent weather sent them back down.

I am sure John will respond but this is an area where the water can be a bit warmer than in other areas.....

Re: Tidal Potomac 2/28/18 Lots of pictures.

Major influx of pre-spawn fish in areas influenced by warm water.  Will be going back Saturday with George.  I have fished here since 1978.
