Doah 2/22/18

Ventured out yesterday thinking, wow, 75 degrees? Yes! Well, the wind had something to say, straight up through the south so the paddle upriver was painful.
River was 52 degrees and pushy. Anchoring was out of the question. COuldn't keep a tube or jig on the bottom.
Managed to scrape together 2 smallmouth, a 12" on a grub and a 14" on a diving rapala. Couldn't even take photos with the wind pushing me 25 mph down stream and into trees.
My good deed for day was convincing a young buck not to go out in his yak without a PFD. Plus he was in cowboy boots and cutoffs! Eghad!
Not complaining, a tough day on the river trumps good days in most categories.

Good job on all fronts, esp that good deed.

Together we'll fight the long defeat.

Not a bad day with catching fish

Sounds like the SM were chasing baits
