Mike let me know that he had to take a day off this week so I obliged.

It was a chilly and foggy start this morning....

...just what I love!

But the sun burned the fog off quickly!

We spend a couple of hours at the 1st spot throwing the kitchen sink and we got ZERO bites. No top water, no tubes, no jerkbaits...no nothing!

So on to spot # 2 where mike saw a splash, threw his bait and hooked up!

Then he followed up with a near 15 incher that was really healthy and fat!

I finally got me one!

Then we moved up river some more and caught some more.....

....including the FAT 17 incher!

We had many hits and misses and we also hooked 4-5 fish that got off. While the action was not always steady, we always had to be ready.

It was getting late (by my standards) and we tried to get one more fish each. We both hooked up and missed but just as we were going to call it, Mike get slammed and in comes this FAT 16+ incher!

Our river has some healthy fish for sure. It's not the Susky but we noted the girth of all fish and tails that rival those of that river up north.

Great day  to be out on the water......we didn't really keep count but we estimate 8-9 fish for Mike and 7-8 for me.

Lots of carp swarming around and many a school of catfish.

Time to go fishin' again!

River at POR is 1'. Gin clear. Found lots of new rocks for when river gets higher. I wish I was better at using the GPS part of my FF. Should have marked the rocks like Brian did at Beaverdam.

I've had the GPS spot feature on most of my boats and never learned. Spend the time fishing vs fooling with the FF.
