Keep going EAST!!! They were saying this morning, it comes down to about 25 miles of when it turns north. If Irma turns 25 miles too late, Florida is trashed. If it turns 25 miles earlier, Florida dodges a major bullet.
Hope all involved stay safe...

The Dominican Republic (south side where my sister lives) dodged a bullet.

Mandatory evac for Anastasia Island where my sister and BIL are. Forecast is for stronger winds and higher storm surge than Matthew. Their house was just inches from getting flooded. Water got up to 3ft deep in the yard then.

It devastated the north coast of my homeland.
Looks like my brothers will not get the eye in SoFL.

But don't let those little lines fools you. When it hits the US, the storm will cover FL and beyond.

And it's still heading west... My sister and BIL decided to stay home. Looking now like it won't be bad there.

One brother has already lost power (Coconut Grove), the other one still has power (Miramar). They got lucky with the current trajectory but will still get pounded.
The eye is SW of them, just went over the lower keys... the west coast of FL is in for a rough day.
