Was supposed to fish Thursday but the forecast looked really bad until they changed it late Wednesday evening. So, Thursday was a beautiful day until the T-boomers moved in.
Bill and I gave it a go but the water was high, fast and muddy. Kinda like Caramel Chocolate Swirl with chocolate sprinkles (debris).
The pockets that had been producing where there but very discolored.
I did manage this yellow kitty!
Anyone know the type of catfish?
After 2 hours of no more bites, we decided to hit the Goose but it was raging! I guess we got more rain up river and creek that what we got in Ashburn. So we headed back as the wind started to kick in. Glad we are not out there now!
Still, it was nice to get out and burn some fuel....helps the economy.

The cat looks like a small flathead but it could also be a yellow bullhead cat. Both have the same broad tail. The bottom anal fin is longer on the bullhead.
That is the major clue.
I cut the grass... and played tackle box today.

I've only caught channel cats there - and that's definitely not one
Nice colors

I have caught a few of those. I call them mud cats. I hope not flatheads and do not think so because all the ones I caught were smaller. Definitely a few different kinds there now.

I sent the picture to John Odenkirk and he says it's a flathead.
