It's a very rare day when Mike Luparello and I go bass fishing that we have a bad day of fishing.
Today was not one of those days!
We were on the water by 7:30a and out of the "O" went!
The tide was extra low and we were seeing stuff on the shore we had never seen. Better yet, as we got started, Mike spotted and eagle and we watched him pick up a fish. Photo does not do it justice. Where's JC when we need him and his camera?
Anyway, Mike started throwing his swim jig and started catching bass right away in stained water.
Then a striper....
Then it was lesson time. He caught 5 fish.....
....before I caught my 1st!
And then he caught some more chunks!
And then I finally got a couple more....
As low as the tide was when we got there is as high as it got later!
I should have taken some before and after pictures. It was like we were fishing two different places.
On the beginning of our last drift, Mike caught one...
....and at the end, it was my turn.
All of the fish were chunky.
Mike caught tw0 that were close to 4. My biggest was probably 1/2 pound off that.
Mike caught most of his fish on a swim bait. being hardheaded, I had to work hard to get my 5 (Mike had a dozen at least), using a spinner bait, chatter bait and a Rage Tail senko.
We had a blast and reminisced about some great days fishing out of my boat.
Mike gets to run the TM and do whatever he wants. He always tries to make sure I catch fish but it's fun to watch him work a fish and set the hook (many flying missiles today on misses).
What a blast!
