Ashburn Lake from the kayak on Sunday

Hydrilla forming in the Ashburn lake creating good cover for bass.

Seems like this lake is more about quality than quantity.  Anyway after a quiet hour, changed my rap fat d suspender to a fish-type popper and pulled in a 2+ and 1.5+.

Seems like a weedless frog is a good bet right now.

We fished that lake last year (July I think) and did not have much success. BUT....there are a few folks who do quite well in some of the holes, where ever they might be!

Mike Roberts, who used to work in the AV HOA office, told me the Ashburn Lake had tha biggest bass and catfish populations. Someone told me Alder had florida strain LMB and that a guy named Ray Scott stocked them years ago.
