Potomac 3-26-17

I made a solo outing in the canoe to a cove that I like to fish this time of year.  Weather was much cooler today with a steady easterly breeze and clouds.  Hit a flat first, but boat positioning was tough.  Hooked a decent snakehead within the first few minutes.  Of course I forgot the measuring trough, not too big, but well fed.  Caught it on a white chatterbait.

Moved from there after fighting with the wind a bit.  Tried a regular spot with chatterbait, tube and swimbait, but nada.  Finally got into a pattern after I moved out of the wind and tried an orange craw wiggle wart with chartreuse flashbou rear treble.  All remaining fish (7 bass) caught on that.  Fish were from 12-maybe 16".  Lost one bigger fish and one yellow perch.  Here are some of the bigger ones.

Bite died at about low tide, so I was off the water by 1:00pm.  Saw an Osprey catch a herring, which was pretty cool.
