Today Dan Grulke and I set out to catch crappie on the Occoquan Reservoir. We got there at 6:00 AM only to find everyone lined up for a bass tournament. This is not what you want when the game plan is to sneak up on stumps and blowdowns to dunk minnows; but despite fishing in the middle of a racetrack, we caught fish. The final tally was eight keeper-size crappie( 10" +) and 2 bass. We came off the water at 12:00. I have never understood why some fishermen will pass, as fast as possible, another boat that is anchored and fishing. We share the same sport and should show courtesy when we see someone fishing.
