Got a call from a fly fishing friend (lets call him Pete) late one Friday night..
Pete: "Hey, wanna go flying and fishing...?"
Me: "You mean fly fishing...? What kind of stupid are you...of course I want to go fly fishing."
Pete: "no, no....do you want to go FLYING to go FISHING."
Me: Err, (remembering that it is a late Friday night) "Pete....you been drinking?"
Pete: "I have an opening for tomorrow morning to go fly fishing for Sea Run Cutthroat on Hope Island...you want go?" "And Yes, I've been drinking that Pappy Van Winkle you gave me."
Me: "Sure, I'd luv to go....where and when?
And thus my starts my next fishing adventure.....I arrived at the Kenmore Air and the first thing I see is this beauty...and I suddenly realize..."Float Planes!!! We're going via float planes....AWESOME!!!
Pete arrives and before I can thank him....he points to another plane and says..."load your gear in that one." That one proves to be a 1955 de Havilland Beaver...even cooler...we're going "Old School!"
Look Ma' no computers or radar!!!
Seattle Space Needle...from ah...almost too close...yeah, its been awhile since I flew "below the cloud cover."
Hope Island - on approach:
Hope Island:
Oh yeah...we caught fish...I caught five of these bad boys...not very big...but full of fight and a lot of fun:
Getting ready to leave....da' plane, da' plane! - as Indiana Jones would say "start the engines!!"
Trip back was uneventful...thankfully....
Next trip...back to the OP!!!
Best regards,
Fishfry

Wait. You acquired a bottle of Pappy? And you gifted a bottle of Pappy? Sweet. Is it as good as people claim or is it all just hype?
Sweet trip! Getting there is part of the adventure too. Glad you caught fish too.
