May 1st Report

And then,  it stopped.  It had rained from whatever time last night it began,  until about 1PM and then it just stopped and we stripped off the rain gear.  The water temps had dropped and the water was full of flotsam.   After about two hours of yellow perch take downs (and a ten incher in the cooler)  we finally picked up a nice crappie all dressed in black.  Okay,  here we go.  Nope.  We moved quite a ways to another area.  After a few minutes,  bobber down,  another nice crappie in the cooler.  I thought,  okay,  here we go.  Nope.  Two more in two hours.  Two in tuxes,  two not but,  all four good size.  Two cats and we called it a day.  Certainly a slow day of fishing after all that rain but,  I wouldn't call it a bad day at all.  A father and son out fishing is always a good day.  Joe had the bobber counting thing down and will be seeing bobbers in the living room carpet tonight.
