Yeah, I wasn't there long since I was just testing my outboard but I caught a fat sunfish and a typical UP smallie. Also saw a ~8lb channel cat.

Ended up having to make a better transom.  Motor had more torque than expected.  The new one is way better.

How in the world were you able to launch at Algonkian?  Water is too low to back a boat off the trailer now.  Average depth up to Lansdowne is 2 feet!

Re: Upper Potomac

My Wavewalk.  I launched from that small park at Lansdowne.  From there up river is doable for regular boats, just have to launch from the MD side of Edwards Ferry.

Re: Upper Potomac

I floated about 7 miles of the 'mac last Saturday in a kayak.  Would not want to take a powerboat out.  Sure, did run into some deeper areas, where I found schools of fish, but did have to get out of the yak on occation and drag it over rocks & ledges.  Biggest fish were caught in shallow laminar flow areas

LF was at 2.7' when I floated, now it's down to 2.65'

Re: Upper Potomac

I went up on Point of Rocks in my yak and got stuck a fair amount.  I went up Catoctin Creek, which was a waste of time.  Caught one SMB out in the middle of the main river on a conehead woolly bugger.
