I have heard from so many fisherman that once you go to Alaska and fish you are spoiled for life.. someday I will be spoiled too.

Re: Alaska

Doc Warner's is a self guided fish camp. If you are with a guide there is a one fish limit for Halibut and a slot limit. Unguided you can take two a day any size.
Almost all of our fish were caught with whole salmon heads, which we caught trolling and fly fishing. We took home about 30 salmon and released at least as many.
Truly a dream trip, I like to believe I was a good fisherman there, but the reality is it would be harder not to catch fish there.

and the fishing is only a small part of the experience

Re: Alaska

Man that is awesome. Alaska is definitely a place I want to visit.

Is it expensive to have the meat shipped home?

We checked the fish as luggage. It can be expensive, but you can be smart about it. Upgrade for free 2 bags. The more bags/boxes you check the more expensive. first two are 25 but if you get to 7 its $200 per bag.

BTW
we left camp at 7:30am Saturday and got home 9:30am Sunday and the fish was still frozen

Re: Alaska

68 hour drive or a 9.5 hour flight..

No wonder I have not been there..

But what a trip if I did..
