5-21-08, Potomac River fishing report

My fishing mentor, Carl Johnson, put in at Gravelly Point in hopes of scoring some fish around Spout Run.

He reported that the water color was right but the current was swift. The guage at Little Falls was at 5’ which means that current is still too fast to fish properly. As well, there was a significant amount of trash subsurface which prevented him from trolling.

The bottom line is that he did not catch any fish but it looks like the river is getting back to normal. Schoolie stripers are still up that way and will be for another month.

If you read this Forum, surely you have read about Mike Bailey, the Animal. Carl and Mike fished the Fletchers area together back in the “old days" (60s, 70s and 80s).
