Got back from my annual vacation yesterday. Story of the trip was terrible weather. The wind blew non-stop for nearly the entire two weeks and I had several days with highs in the 50s and lows in the 30s. I hit 7 different lakes but the wind limited where I could fish on each of them. Still a great time though, there's nowhere else I would rather have been!
Fat smallie
Random largemouth
Nice crappie
Caught several nice largemouth like this on my first day on the water before a huge cold front moved in.
The memorial weekend crowds were tough, but I managed.
Barely got to use a frog at all. Caught some fish on it though.
The cold front messed up the spawn and pushed a lot of smallies into deeper water.
Brace of quality largemouth
Walleye fishing was not good this year. I was happy to get this nice one off the dock on the last night of the trip.
Decent smallmouth.
When I could get out of the wind I caught some nice fish on jigs and senkos
Pike mouth

Nice variety of fish ... can't imagine what the numbers would be like if the weather was epic.

Those are some really nice smallmouth - - the northern lake fish grow much bigger and fatter than we find in the 'Doah or Potomac. Enjoyed the pictures - glad to hear you had a good trip

Thanks guys. My buddy had to cancel and I ended up fishing alone for the whole trip, so I didn't get many pics. It was slower fishing than usual, but even my worst day was better than what I usually do down here.
And let me tell you, launching and recovering a boat by yourself into 20+mph winds is not fun at all. I made the mistake of doing that a couple times before concluding that I should only fish lakes where the launch ramps were protected from the wind.
