Skunked at Chain Bridge

What a difference a week makes. Last Monday I was on the Bay and knee deep in big stripers...today I was skunked fishing for shad under the Chain Bridge. Fished from 7am-9am and never even had a bite. Weather was great, water flow clear and not too fast, and an incoming tide. Tried all the go to colors of shad darts in different sizes on both single and double rigs...nothing. Tried tiny twister tail grubs...nothing. Tried an inline spinner...nothing. Tried a small silver buddy...nothing. Couldn't believe I got no bites. Guess that's why they call it fishing instead of catching.

Re: Skunked at Chain Bridge

That is surprising, although on Saturday it took me three hours to get a bite. Fishing is still a great way to start your week! Didn't know you could catch shad on a silver buddy, I'll have to try that.

Together we'll fight the long defeat.

Re: Skunked at Chain Bridge

I tried Occoquan foot bridge last thur and saw nothing but birds.
I caught some shad there on something very similar to SB's last year.
